The charts above compare the respective performances of the Ethibel Excellence Global and Europe Indexes with those of the S&P 1200 Global and the S&P 350 indexes.

It is remarkable to see that the development of the Ethibel indexes is close to that of the current S&P indexes.

In 2005, the growth of the Ethibel indexes mirrored those of traditional reference indexes.

Nevertheless, we must also underline the best return on average stock exchange performances in 2005. This is the first time in seven years that we have observed this trend, which is mainly due to the underrepresentation of certain sectors (such as oil and gas) in the Ethibel indexes. The year 2005 was a distinctive year for the global economy, characterised by various mergers and an increase in the price of raw materials.

A more restricted environment like Ethibel will not always optimally profit from opportunities that appear on the market. We will of course remain watchful of developments in 2006. However, our philosophy has always been to favour a long-term approach to the stock markets rather than the quest for immediate financial gain.
