We analyse management systems according to three ‘items’:
- Relevance of their Policies (P)
- Coherence of Implementation (I)
- Effectiveness of Results (R)

These three items are structured into nine approaches. 1. P = Relevance of Policies:
- Visibility: What visibility is given to CSR objectives within the company?
- Content: Do corporate policies cover all CSR objectives based on internationally recognised standards?
- Transmission: Who is really responsible for carrying out these policies?
2. D = Coherence of Implementation:
- Process: What procedures and human, financial and organisational resources have been implemented?
- Means: Are human, financial and organisational resources adequate?
- Reporting / monitoring: What internal and external controls are in place to monitor whether the mechanisms in place are appropriate to meet internationally recognised CSR objectives?
3. R = Effectiveness of Results:
- Indicators: What are the company’s indicators?
- Stakeholders’ views: How do internal and external stakeholders assess management commitments?
- Controversies / Trends: How serious are controversies involving the company, how transparent is its response, how well does it co-operate with stakeholders?
