Positive alert on Google ratings

Vigeo has just sent an alert to all its clients (investors and asset managers) announcing the possibility to upgrade Google’s score in the Human Rights issue.

This alert follows the decision from Google to launch a service that allows people residing in Egypt to circumvent the government’s shutting down of internet and to post Twitter messages without an Internet connection.

The service called « speak-to-tweet » should gives the possibility to its users to call international numbers and automatically converts the voice message into a text message and posts it on a dedicated Twitter account.

Vigeo considers Google’s initiative as a contribution on the part of the firm towards the promotion of freedom of expression in society. This initiative is, furthermore, notable as it has been taken in a country and a context where the respect of such basic human rights has been seriously hindered by public authorities.
